A few days ago, I hit the jackpot at my local thrifted resale shop. And, if you love shopping for those hidden gems everybody speaks of online, then you know what I am talking about. I guess today was my lucky day because I went second-hand shopping and came out with a ton of jewelry that I am quite proud to be the owner of.
I love to do my thrift shopping when I am all by myself because I will spend hours walking and looking at everything in sight. Thrift crawling used to be my hobby until I took both my oldest daughters and my husband. Now they swear they have the bug of buying gently used items. Lol #copycats :)
So, now I have to sneak out of my own home so I can go shopping alone. I know that sounds a bit selfish, but my girls always find the good stuff before I can get to it.
Lol, but that's the life I live, I guess.
Seriously, I have tried to shop with my family and friends, but it never works out. It could be because I use that time to relax and when the person that came with me finishes shopping they are ready to go. (insert roll eyes right here.} lol
Yep, I am one of those weird people who loves to walk around and try on everything in sight.
But feast your eyes on this beautiful necklace in the top picture, pay close attention to the faux wood all around the thick beaded neck piece. Yes, it screams old world slash new world vintage.
Nonetheless, I had to try it on, and I was floored how heavy it felt, which is actually a plus for me. I love a necklace piece that has a depth feel to it. Also, I thought it was a handmade from home piece, turns out it was made in Kenya. If you are wondering, I found a few of them on eBay for around 35 to 40 bucks.
Honestly, I thought it would be a bit higher, but I got mine for 6 dollars. After trying on that neckpiece, I knew I had to get it, and so I did. It may have been inexpensive, but the quality, texture, and feel were terrific.
I couldn't resist looking at this hippie style net bag pictured above. Although, I create denim bags I love collecting bags I can use when going to concerts. I always like having a see through bag that shows everything I have in it.
I really do enjoy finding pieces of jewelry I can remake by putting my own spin to it. But these bangles are a hit with me. I am not a red person but I may even switch my lipstick from pink to a hot copy red.
Besides, a arm bracelets can add a new look with depth and dimension. It will overall change the look and make it more personal. But since I found earrings and bangles that are in good condition, I will only use my jewelry cleaner to bring them back to life without disturbing the integrity or color of each piece.
On this trip I came across so many different pieces and I can't wait to make content to share with you friends.
When it comes to shopping for my personal style I love trying on scarves, clothes and anything that makes me feel good. That's it and that's the vibe I am playing around with.

After getting home, I realized I spent more time at the resale store than I really wanted to for that day
Nonetheless, I was happy with my purchases and where I spent my time on that day. I did get everything I wanted plus more.
I will be styling all my pieces in a later post, but I must say the hammered bracelet has to be my favorite item at the moment.
